Our Lady (Madonna) of Ghisallo: The Spiritual Heart of World Cycling

Ghisallo is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for cycling enthusiasts worldwide. Every year, thousands of athletes and travelers journey here to visit the Santuario della Our Lady of Ghisallo and, since 2006, the adjacent Cycling Museum. The sanctuary dates back to the 17th century and houses a sacred painting of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was officially proclaimed the Patron Saint of Cyclists by Pope Pius XII in 1949.

It houses a peerless collection of bicycles, tracing the evolution of the machine from its earliest wooden frames to the cutting-edge carbon fiber models of today. Visitors can explore immersive multimedia sections, rare archives, and vintage newspapers. The sheer volume of memorabilia dedicated to the champions of the past and present serves as a powerful tribute to those who have turned cycling into a legendary pursuit.

When to visit the Cycling Museum
