Ridge of the Lariano Triangle (Dorsale del Triangolo Lariano)

Ridge of the Lariano Triangle from Brunate to Bellagio

Total length: km. 37

The crossing of the ridge of the Lariano Triangle is a magnificent excursion free of any particular difficulties, and the route is marked with the colors white - red (number 1) and the directional arrows being shown at the most important crossroads. The territory of the Lariano Triangle is between the two branches of the Lario; to the south the summits are formed by the cities of Como and Lecco, while to the north by the characteristic village of Bellagio.

The trek to the ridge of the Lariano Triangle kicks off from Brunate and ends in Bellagio, and it can be traversed in the opposite direction without problems. The growth is about 37 kilometers, which corresponds to 8/10 hours of walking, but with some variations it is also possible to make the route with MTB bicycles (Mountain Trials Bike).

We recommend dividing the route into at least two stages, and while in this guide we wrap up the first stop at Colma di Sormano, you can safely consider other rest areas or divide the excursion differently. Along the way there is no shortage of places to stop for freshening up; for example, on the Piano del Tivano we can find a campsite (Alpe Fuin Campsite), restaurants, some Bed and Breakfast, and the bus stop leading to Nesso.

Another solution to stay overnight is at the Riella lodge, situated in a splendid panoramic position just below the summit of Mount Palanzone, although it is always advisable to contact these facilities in advance to learn about timetables and availability.

The crossing of the ridge of the Lariano Triangle extends along paths, mule tracks, agricultural roads and paved driveways, and despite being a relatively easy trek, you must always pay attention to the signs and use caution on the paths. We also recommend bringing a good supply of water, as there are not many fountains on the way.

A special thank you goes to the Mountain Community of the Lariano Triangle that keeps the paths and signs of this extraordinary route in order. Wishing you a wonderful excursion, we always recommend respect for nature and for territories that you come across.
